Job Description

Orca Pacific is a tech-enabled, full-service agency with a focus on Amazon. We are looking for a driven and client-focused Business Manager who can make a positive impact on our team and business.

At Orca Pacific, Business Managers work with our largest clients to lead our delivery teams in setting strategies to help our clients win on Amazon.

This person needs to be a strategic thinker who demonstrates a high degree of ownership, a strong work ethic, the analytical skills to offer data driven insights and intellectual flexibility to account for the rapidly changing eCommerce environment.

The Business Manager’s primary responsibility is to grow client accounts by developing growth plans and strategies, lead and support account team members, and build and maintain strong relationships with our client base and internal Amazon contacts. This person must collaborate with account managers, advertising managers and other cross functional team members to provide the best client experience, effectively prioritize activities that will drive towards client goals, and share their strong expertise in working with Amazon.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead client delivery teams in working with strategic clients to drive their business towards the next phase of growth and own all aspects of their business including but not limited to developing annual brand strategies, marketing and promotional planning, supply chain optimization, Amazon negotiations, resolving client escalations and general Amazon business management and operations.
  • Analyze data to identify key brand opportunities to target, initiate long term relationships with brands’ senior management and Amazon, resolve any operational, logistical or business issues, lead negotiations with Amazon on the clients behalf to align outcomes with client goals
  • Identify opportunities to grow year-over-year revenue for clients on Amazon
  • Prepare Go-to-Market and product launch plans
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly business reviews
  • Create and provide sales/inventory forecasts
  • Plan and project manage promotional activities
  • Lead delivery teams of account managers, advertising managers and content specialists to deliver best-in class service to clients
  • Negotiate on behalf of clients with Amazon with a deep understanding of how negotiation outcomes can affect on Amazon performance
  • Onboard new vendors with Amazon
  • Jump in on day-to-day operations as needed
  • Occasional travel required
  • Identify opportunities for reporting and data visualization needs for clients and liaise with internal tech teams to deliver solutions.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Successful track record of managing client/vendor relationships while driving annual growth on client businesses
  • Willingness to support & mentor team members
  • Demonstrated ability to present to and earn the trust of Sr. Leaders
  • Ability to build, maintain and manage multiple relationships at the most senior levels within client organizations and to influence key stakeholders (internal and external) via formal and informal channels
  • High threshold for working in an ambiguous, fast paced environment start-up like environment – figuring it out and adapting as you go
  • Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience implementing process improvements and supporting scalability initiatives
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Highly analytical, able to create targeted recommendations from raw data

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of three to five years experience working with Amazon Vendor or Seller Central
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience developing cross-functional business strategy on retail, operations, and/or business management/consulting with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Experience in developing and delivering cross-functional business strategy
  • 2 years of relevant experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion planning, inventory management, and product development.
